The Circus Came to Town...

Yesterday, John and I took Kayden and Boston to the circus. We didn't tell her we were going, we just surprised her. I was more giddy than she was. I have never been to the circus either, so I was so excited. And, for good reason. It was really good (to me anyway). I was amazed at some of the things. My camera doesn't take good pics in the dark, so only a few came out. We saw...three motorcycles in a circular cage chasing each other (I was about to have a panic attack), really good daredevil running on a spinning wheel, two girls swing and hang by their hair, some huge elephants, a 7 man pyramid on the tight rope (very impressive) and some other random but entertaining acts.
Anyway, we had a really good time and I will be going again next year!

Home away from Home

Last week we all headed to TN. We were able to see most of our family and spend lots of quality time with them. We really had a great time. The weather was great and we just had so much fun hanging out with everyone. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful families.
Sat. night they had a birthday party for Brecken and Kayden (they won't see her again before her birthday). Lets just say, they were not deprived of gifts! And Aunt Mary came through with some major Hannah Montana decorations and cake. Kayden loved it!
Sunday, the girls and I went to church in Searcy with Terri then to Little Rock to eat lunch with my college roommates and their daughters. We met at Cozymels...of course! We had a great time chatting and catching up. So much has changed since we used to do that in college. But, it is good to see them as always.
Monday, Janice, Mary and the girls and I went shopping. Janice was on a mission to find some things for the girls, so we made a day of it.
We came home with a packed car!
Since we don't see them as often as we would like, I don't talk about them as much, but I really love going up there to see the Hicks' family. It is/has always been like my home away from home. My inlaws have always treated me like one of theirs and I know it is not like that everywhere. Everything is so laid back and homey.
And, I also don't say much about Mary, but she is a great sister-in-law and Aunt! We always have so much fun together, usually buy too much, but I miss her when we leave. And I anticipate our next visit.
Of course it was so good to see Terri and spend some time with her. I love her so much and she is also a great Aunt. Last but not least, I got to steal a hug from Ashley. Thanks for meeting us for a minute.
Can't wait to see you all again. Thanks for a great weekend. I love you!

Happy Birthday Brecken!

My baby girl is one. I can remember a year ago like it was a week ago. I just want time to stand still for a while. I love my little girl so much and she is so much fun to be around (when she isn't sick). So many people just love her and care so much for her.

This weekend we had a double party for Brecken and Kinsey, since they are only 3 days apart. I am so glad that she has a cousin as close as Kinsey that will be doing the same things as her. I know we will have some interesting times and stories but I look forward to every bit of it.

Sorry, back to the party...we had our family over and we ate soup and then had cake. Aunt Cindy made the girls their own to dig into. Brecken was a little under the weather so she wasn't as excited as Kinsey. Kristin made their tutu's and Cissel and I made their shirts. They looked so adorable and I am so glad we got to do this first birthday together. Both girls got lots of goodies and we all had a great time celebrating their day. I am so thankful for our family and friends and we are blessed beyond measure.

Brecken weighs about 19 lbs (we go for wellcheck next week). She still only has 2 teeth. She isn't a very good eater (probably why she only weighs 19 lbs). She loves whole milk. She loves Kayden and teasing her. She has an attitude that needs my constant attention and discipline. Kyaden was very obedient, Brecken likes to test the waters (like her daddy). She can only say Dadda and Momma that you can recognize. She jabbers alot, just not real words yet. Brecken likes to point and touch eyes. She loves baby einstein, which mommy and daddy love on road trips. Since she has been sick, she is very clingy. Brecken likes to point at things or people when she sees them. And she likes for you to touch her pointer finger with your pointer finger. She plays hide and seek around the walls and doors alot. She gets tickled which gets us tickled.
She can crawl really fast and is starting to move from object to object with less help...walking is coming soon. She likes to cuddle. She has the sweetest smile that melts my heart.
I am so blessed to have a healthy, beautiful daughter. I thank God for her continually.

Happy Birthday Baby Brecken! I love you with all my heart!

My cool sister posted some old pictures the other day, so I am returning the favor...I thought these were cute. The scary ones are coming soon.

This is Kristin, Terri, Aaron, Ashley, Austin and me (I love terri's face...Kayden reminds me of her so much.)

Terri, me, Whitney and Lindsey Hammock (why am I posing like that, and who let me wear that belly shirt?)

On a serious note, my college roommate and friend, Ashley, has a little girl who is having surgery, probably right now. Burke is only 7 mo., so you can imagine how this is on her parents. Please say a prayer for Burke and a successful surgery and recovery. Also for her momma and daddy. Thanks.

Grocery Getter

I am officially a "soccer mom". Not really, but that is what I have always classified someone who drove a minivan. Well, I will gladly be put in that category. We got a "new to us" honda yesterday. I love it! It is a few years old, but it has leather and a dvd player...enough said. We hope that it will save us some on gas, and I have been wanting one for a while now.
So, here is the newest member of our family...

Couldn't post without a picture of my girls!
